The greatest moment of Today!
Tonight after doing the bedtime routine for my 4 yr old: bath, pjs, brush teeth, read book, say prayers... the greatest moment occurred. We say the same prayer every night that was passed down from when I was a child. Anyways Brayden usually speeds through the end of the prayer to beat me "I love everyone in the whole world, except the devil, Amen." Its cute and innocent, but I dont really like that he speeds through it soooo fast like almost mumbling. He looks up at me smiling after he says the end of the prayer and says "See mom, I know the words and I said them really fast"... so I gently stated " Yes you did! You know its not always good to go super fast..." He then looks at me like what do you mean? I replied to his curios look, "Well, when you say your prayers a little slower, its like showing God that you love him". He still looked a little confused but with a grin. So I told him, " Okay.. lets see I will show you what I mean" So I have him right in front of me and I give him a super fast kiss on his cheek. He then giggles. " okay now tell me if you like this one better" Then I give him 2 softer kisses on both cheeks and whisper "I love you so much" He smiles really big and says "I like this one better" I then explain that going fast is ok, just when you dont go super fast it can show that you love them. He smiles again and says "ohhh Okay" then gives me 2 kisses and whispers "I love you, mommy" and then crawls into bed. It felt so great to be able to explain something and him to just get it. He amazes me so much, I am so thankful that God let me be my son's mom.
